WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13.  THERE IS STILL A LITTLE TIME LEFT!!!!
Each advisory will be 
donating a shoebox full of toys to a child in need overseas. Each child is asked 
to bring in one item for the shoebox.
Example of items that

regular meeting to show your support for the Capital Prep Replication proposal.

Student Art Exhibit - 
11/15
The Arts Department 
will present an art exhibit and auction at Capital Prep on Friday, November 15, 
from 5:30-6:30 pm. This exhibition showcases student pieces including African 
masks, puppets, color wheels and drawings from observation. In addition to the 
visual art exhibit, there will be student musicians performing throughout the 
exhibit featuring a diverse selection of repertoire. For more information,

Tops Collection 
Box 
Tops for Education is a national school earnings program that has been around 
since 1996. Our school’s goal this year is to earn $1000.00 for Capital Prep. 
Earn cash for your school by clipping 10¢ Box Tops from hundreds of products and 
having your kids bring them in to their advisor. Start clipping – turn in your

Works: Ely St. Parking
One of our parents has 
started a petition to post signage on Ely Street in Hartford, CT to allow 
parking on the wide-width sidewalk due to the safety concerns of school 
children. Your signature is valuable and makes a real difference. Please

Ski & Snowboarding 
Program
Registration period 
for the Ski and Snowboarding program is in progress. Students from 4th - 12th 
Grade can participate. The ski program is for students at every level, from 
those completely new to the ski/snowboard program, to those who have been doing 
these sports for years. This will be a memorable and successful experience - to 
sign up your child, contact Mr. Roderick or Ms. W. Perry. The deadline is 
December 6, 2013.

Help the Polar Express reach the North Pole -advance along the train tracks by 
reading or being read to for twenty or more minutes every day!
**Students 
only need to read SEVEN books and record them to get a prize from Mr. 
Hawkins!!**
12/7 Save the Date – 
Winter Ball
This year’s Winter 
Ball will be held on December 7. Ms. Logan and Ms. Weidman are organizing 
the event and will provide more details in the coming weeks. For now, please 
save the date! It's a spectacular event for the kids.
